Plasma catalysis research rarely stays at one fixed condition. As a project evolves it may move from direct plasma-catalyst interaction to feedstock pre-activation, from pure plasma to plasma plus light and heat - and every time conditions change, the discharge state itself may change too. The PLR-MPPT-X plasma-induced photocatalytic activity platform is designed around exactly these research transitions.
When the catalyst sits inside the discharge region, the system studies direct plasma-catalyst interaction; when separated, plasma pre-activation feeds active intermediates into a downstream photo- or thermo-catalytic zone. PLR-MPPT-X is compatible with both in-plasma and post-plasma configurations, so one setup can follow different reaction paths.
The flat reactor brings illumination, discharge and catalyst bed around one reaction region - ideal for introducing light as a variable. The tubular reactor pairs with high-temperature heating up to 800 C, extending the platform to high-temperature thermo-plasma systems.
Multi-field catalysis is not about switching everything on at once. Researchers can establish a thermal or plasma baseline, then add light and compare combinations - keeping feed, reactor and control conditions identical so the studied variable stands alone. PLR-MPPT-X supports single-, dual- and multi-field series experiments on this logic.
Introducing a catalyst into the discharge region can change the local field and discharge behavior, so comparing only final yields is incomplete. The platform records voltage, current and discharge power in sync, captures V/I waveforms and supports Q-V Lissajous analysis for dielectric barrier discharge systems - giving every comparison a documented discharge state.
